GDFB - Sleeveless Haubergeon
The haubergeon (little hauberk) is a shorter and lighter version of the aforementioned hauberk. Usually they reach to the waist of upper thigh, and have shorter sleeves or are sleeveless.
Primarily, these were infantry armour, as the reduced length in the sleeves and torso saved some weight and provided better mobility compared to the longer hauberk. Possibly one of the most famous examples of a haubergeon is the Roman lorica hamata, which was a sleeveless haubergeon with additional chainmail pauldrons that were fixed to each other and the haubergeon with leather straps and brass fittings.
These haubergeons from GDFB are made of 16 gauge, zinc-plated, butted mild steel, are 33" long and fit up to a 55" chest. The exact fit will change depending on the wearer.
It is recommended to leave up to 8" of space to account for a gambeson or arming jacket.
