DAC Hand Made - Falx

  • 3,19999

A modern take on the Dacian weapon that forced the Romans to standardize temporary changes to their armour and tactics, the Falx was, in the hands of a skilled user, a force to be reckoned with. According to historical sources, this weapon was capable of cleaving clean through a soldier's scutum, lorica or galea, and into the man wearing it. This was facilitated by a wicked forward curve to the blade with a razor sharp edge on the interior of the curve helping to amplify the force of the blow.

Unlike the traditional Falx, which was a pole arm, this modern, one of a kind, version was hand-made by our in house blacksmith and knifemaker, and has a slab tang construction with slated chatoyant quilted maple and desert iron wood grips with brass spacers, a 33 1/2" full 1095 mono-steel blade with fullers and a clip point. This sword feels mighty in the hand and comes with a full tooled leather sheath with a buckled and d-ring equipped collar making it ready to wear into battle.
